Stencil design is used to decorate a wall by writing initial art designs on it. As you paint initial designs, erase any stencil marks with dry eraser. Use multiple colors in contrasting style. Use a stencil roller and work in an upward and outward motion. Avoid making water mark at bottom of stencil as this is quite visible.

If it's not yet the selected wall color, decide stencil design and place stencil on the first wall. Mark position and design with pencil on first wall. Move stencil around, mark registration areas and move stencil over the wall until the desired area is entirely covered by the stencil design.

Move stencil design over to the next wall and do the same process as before but now start from the opposite direction. Draw an X over the stencil design and make sure your design is even across the surface. If your design is not an even line across the surface of the wall, make sure you do it again or you will create a lot of small uneven lines. Check it out on this homepage to get enough details about stencil art.

You can add some detail to your stencil designs. You need to use your stencil blank. Cut out stencils with your knife or a utility knife and add them to your stencil blank. Use more detail for raised stencils. Remember to apply and overlap stencils so that they are even on all sides.

Now you can print out your stencil design on the appropriate paper and cut along the right side of the line if your stencil design is a straight line. Use your exacto knife to remove the knife mark and smooth out any jagged edges. Trim any extra material at the edges of your cutting mat with the jigsaw. Learn how to make diy stencil on this page.

Once you have completed your stencils, wash and dry your surfaces. You may need to stand on the paper for a few seconds to soften the glue that was used to attach the designs. Let your designs air dry for a day or two before you use your wall. When choosing the color of your stencils, remember that lighter colors are easier to see in the dark. Choose dark shades for fine detail designs and lighter colors for bold and bright patterns.

If you are making a stencil design on a flat surface, first apply a primer before painting. Primer will protect your flat surface from stains and keep it flat and free of bubbles. Applying a primer before painting will also help your painted design stick to your stenciled surface.

I enjoy using screen printing techniques to create unique and custom stencil designs. Custom stencils can add personality to any product, personalize an item, or display an image for your company. Screen printing products is a fun and rewarding process. You can find great resources and kits online. There is plenty of information and step-by-step instructions to help you complete your first stencil.
